Hi, I’m Kat.
I’m an artist & perpetual tinkerer who is constantly curious about most everything.
A lifelong student of curiosity, these days I tend to follow whichever direction my creative whims take me. Past & current explorations have included: calligraphy & watercolor lettering under my previous business Riley Writes Scout, letterpress & linocut prints using my 1960’s Vandercook SP-15 press, embroidery & needlepoint projects (including stitching all four of my family’s Christmas stockings!), & creating flat lay art & stop motion videos using my children’s extremely fun & open-ended wooden toys. Next up on my creative journey: revisiting an old love of mine, watercolor painting, as well as playing around with needle felting!
When I’m not in my studio, you’ll find me either playing with my kids, with my nose in a good book (currently reading A Short History of Nearly Everything), baking something yummy, or rewatching a favorite show (lately it’s been The Mentalist)!
